- I am a retired teacher with 30 years experience with elementary, middle school and high school students. I spent 20 years as a "gifted specialist." Since that time, I have an earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. I spent about 10 years as an education professor in the education department at a small liberal arts college--now retired. I work now as a writer and independent consultant in education and creativity.
